The Official Announcement “Grabbing People”! Xiaomi Mi Ju: It Is Rumored that Jianghuai Automobile Will Also Take the OEM Road?

Xiaomi made cars once again brushed a wave of existence.

On July 28, Xiaomi Group Chairman Lei Jun announced through Weibo that Xiaomi Motors started the recruitment of the autonomous driving department and recruited 500 autonomous driving technicians in the first batch.

On the previous day, rumors that the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Anhui Province is in contact with Xiaomi Motors and intends to introduce Xiaomi Motors into Hefei have been circulating on the Internet, and Jianghuai Motors may contract for Xiaomi Motors.

In response, Xiaomi responded that all official disclosures shall prevail. On July 28, Jianghuai Automobile told the Beijing News Shell Finance reporter that it is not clear about the matter at present, and the announcement of the listed company shall prevail.

In fact, as the auto industry is facing a reform and reshuffle, the foundry model has gradually been regarded as a way for traditional car companies to transform. In June this year, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology also publicly stated that it will open up foundry in an orderly manner.

Officials announced that one hundred days have passed, Xiaomi builds cars first to “grab people”

Xiaomi has once again updated its car-making dynamics, which does not seem to be a surprise to the outside world.

On March 30, Xiaomi Group announced that the board of directors officially approved the smart electric vehicle business project, and plans to establish a wholly-owned subsidiary to be responsible for the smart electric vehicle business; the initial investment is 10 billion yuan, and the investment is expected to be 10 billion US dollars in the next 10 years , Lei Jun, CEO of Xiaomi Group, will concurrently serve as CEO of the smart electric vehicle business.

Since then, building a car has been put on the agenda in full swing.

In April, a group photo of BYD President Wang Chuanfu and Lei Jun and others flowed out. In June, Wang Chuanfu publicly stated that BYD not only supports Xiaomi’s car building, but is even negotiating some car projects with Xiaomi.

In the following months, Lei Jun can be seen in car companies and supply chain companies. Lei Jun visited supply chain companies such as Bosch and CATL, as well as production bases of auto companies such as Changan Automobile Plant, SAIC-GM-Wuling Liuzhou production base, Great Wall Motors Baoding R&D Center, Dongfeng Motor Wuhan Base, and SAIC Passenger Car Jiading Headquarters.

Judging from the route of Lei Jun’s investigation and visit, it covers all subdivision models. The industry believes that Lei Jun’s visit is likely to be an inspection for the first model, but so far Xiaomi has not announced the positioning and level of the first model.

While Lei Jun is running across the country, Xiaomi is also forming a team. At the beginning of June, Xiaomi released recruitment requirements for autonomous driving positions, involving perception, positioning, control, decision planning, algorithms, data, simulation, vehicle engineering, sensor hardware and other fields; in July, there was news that Xiaomi had acquired DeepMotion, an autonomous driving technology company, and it was in July. On the 28th, Lei Jun also publicly stated that Xiaomi Motors started the recruitment of the autonomous driving department and recruited 500 autonomous driving technicians in the first batch.

As for rumors such as settlement, Xiaomi has publicly responded. On July 23, it was reported that the Xiaomi Automobile R&D Center settled in Shanghai, and Xiaomi once refuted the rumors.

“Recently, some of the information about our company’s car manufacturing has become more and more outrageous. I landed in Beijing and Shanghai for a while, and I deliberately emphasized that Wuhan did not introduce success. In addition to landing, on the topic of recruitment, salary and options. It also makes me jealous. I always have independent options, and even rumors that the total salary package will be 20 million yuan. I originally thought that there was no need to refute the rumors. Everyone should have a clear understanding. I didn’t expect friends to come and let me know. 20 million positions have been pushed. Let me respond together, all of the above are not facts, and everything is subject to official disclosures.” Wang Hua, general manager of Xiaomi public relations, said in a statement.
